Tyler's sexuality should have been public and it should have been celebrated and encourage. I wrote here recently about the need to have sexual diversity in college and having straight people being paired up with gay roommates. Let's not let Tyler's tragic death be in vain. We can best remember Tyler by celebrating his life and making sure young people everywhere have the chance to be gay and not live in fear.

The story of Tyler Clementi is a sad one. This beautiful young gay person did not feel free to be gay in America. Tyler had to hide his sexuality. He was afraid to be gay in public because even today in the age of Obama there are still Conservative elements of intolerant hate that want to deny sexuality and impose a heterosexual mindset on a world that is increasingly becoming more gay and sexually diverse.

Ines Sainz: Used by gay athletes to keep their jobs
As discussed here before, gay Americans in sports are under a great deal of pressure to hide to their sexuality. It's likely that 50 to 75% of American athletes are gay or want to explore other men sexually. But out of fear of homophobia and corporate pressures backed by Republican interests, these oppressed gays are not free to be themselves.
Look what happened to Ines Sainz who suffered from obligatory sexual harassment of straight kind when she entered the New York Jets locker room. This incident reveals the painful pressure gay athletes are under to appear straight out of fear losing their jobs.
Set them free and let them run free.
"If you take away one thing from my speech, I want you to take away the notion that life is precious, and part of what makes it so wonderful is its diversity, that all of us are different," Obama said. "And we shouldn't be embarrassed by the things that make us different. We should be proud of them." - President Obama

As for as we know what happened on 9/11/01 was a tragic accident or mistake. At worst it was a misunderstanding NOT an excuse or reason to start a conflict. We know what the Bush Regime did and look what happened. Thanks to President Obama, America is turning away from war and is looking for ways to understand the world and a peaceful partner in the global community.
