Why do Christians insist on inserting religion in Christmas?

Christmas should be a time for everyone to enjoy, to reflect, to share and how to be a better person.   It shouldn't be just a day for Christians to voice their beliefs and try to impose them on others.

Best Holiday Wishes to you, President Obama!

Dear President Obama,

Thank you for another wonderful year of progress.   We are all so happy that you are our president.   The world is a better place because of you.   America is starting to become a good place as well because of your leadership and vision.

2012 is going to be an exciting year.   You will win a well-deserved second term as president and we'll be embarking on new journey's of progress and growth.

You have already ended the Bush Recession, gave us health care, investments in science, green energy and health care.   The economy is growing again and people are getting jobs again.   You ended Bush's war on Iraq and stopped the torture. You have restored our rights to be free and diverse and for that, we cannot thank you enough.

We'll be working hard for you in 2012 and forever.   We love you.

Have a wonderful vacation and a beautiful and fun holiday season!

Why do Republicans want bad relations with North Korea?

Former President Jimmy Carter recently sent North Korea a message of condolence over the death of Kim Jong-il.   He wished every success to Kim Jong-un, the son of Kim Jong-il who died this week.

For some reason these gesture of decency has been attacked by Republicans and the Conservative war-mongers.   What is the big deal here for them?   Why not get relations with North Korea off to a good start?  Diplomacy is the way America and North Korea can become friends.

Is President Obama too intelligent for many Americans?

Polls show that most Americans support President Obama and will reelected him for his second term in 2012.  But there is still considerable number of Americans who don't support the president.  There are even some Americans who actually blame President Obama for the economic problems that Bush created during his eight years of mistakes.

What can President Obama do to reach out to these stupid Americans?  Is there any hope for them?

Things are BETTER under President Obama

Reagan said it best when he asked, "Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?"

Of course, in the case of Barack Obama, its 3+ years ago that he took office and there is a lot of time between now and the next election. A lot could happen- good and bad.

But we, as a nation, ARE undeniably and measurably better off now than we were just 3 short years ago. When Obama won the presidency in 2008, the economy was in free fall. We faced the greatest economic crash since the great depression losing massive numbers of American jobs in just a few short weeks.

TODAY, fears of a depression or even a double dip recession are beginning to dissipate. In October alone, we gained 80,000 jobs. Unemployment is not rising as it was in 2008. Its FALLING. It has gone from more than 10 percent, now dipping below 9 percent. While we still have a long way to go, jobs ARE being created and the economy is improving. (The only argument to be made is that it could be improving FASTER- no doubt the Republican nominee will make this assertion in 2012 if the economy is still improving)

Not only that, the world's most wanted terrorist has been killed. While Obama didn't pull the trigger himself, he made a decisive move to use ground troops to take out the Al Qaeda leader rather than launching a missile which would have made it difficult to confirm the terrorist's death. A tyrant named Gadaffi has also been toppled with American help.

Obama is not my ideal president but its tough to deny that killing the world's most wanted terrorist and FALLING unemployment are positive developments for this nation and, frankly, I sleep a lot better at night knowing that the economy is improving and the world's most wanted terrorist is dead and gone.

Sure, things could always be BETTER. BUt its tough to deny that we're doing better today than in late 2008!

U.S. economy economy continues to soar under President Obama. Unemployment rate down to 8.6%

Republicans got even more bad news the other way. The unemployment rate has dropped again down to 8.6%. President Obama has already created more jobs than Bush did in eight years:

The president’s Council of Economic Advisers, in a report released in March, estimated that between 2.5 million and 3.6 million jobs were created or saved by President Obama's stimulus through the fourth quarter of 2010.

Separately, the council’s report cited four independent analyses by the Congressional Budget Office and three private economic analysis companies. Here’s what the groups found:

• CBO: Between 1.3 million and 3.6 million jobs saved or created.

• IHS/Global Insight: 2.45 million jobs saved or created.

• Macroeconomic Advisers: 2.3 million jobs saved or created.

• Moody’s 2.5 million jobs saved or created. ublican-senatorial-committee/national-republican-senatorial-committee- ad-says-s

"Occupy Black Friday" - Say no to corporate greed and corporate profit

"The idea is simple, hit the corporations that corrupt and control American politics where it hurts, their profits,"

It it time to start making the corporations hire people. There's always a reason to hire. People who aren't intelligent or creative enough to find a good reason to hire people have no business running a company.

We can make the economy even better with tax increases, especially on the rich

I write this because it is the truth.   It is a proven fact.   I know that the Conservatives will deny it of course, but facts are facts.   Tax increases spur economic growth and more importantly, they help government create a better society with essential services.

The last prosperous time in the U.S. was with President Clinton which saw tax increases.

Eisenhower, the Republican president raised taxes to 90% in the 1950s and those times weren't known for economic stagnation.

But when Bush imposed his tax cuts for the rich in 2001 it created the recession that is why the economy is poor today.    The economy is recovering today thanks to President Obama and new jobs are being created every month.   But we need more revenue and the rich, certainly must pay their fair share.

"They showed us their power. And we're showing them ours"

Despite the tragic events in New York today, the Occupy Movement is alive and well. The deeply unfortunate actions taken by the New York police and by their RepubliCON mayor will not stop people from expression their rights. We cannot allow the rich have to silence speech and people's rights.

By contrast, the Seattle City Council approved a measure in support of Occupy movement. It is a shame that New York could not follow their example.

Here's the latest from

"They showed us their power. And we're showing them ours."

We are here because we believe a better world is possible. We are willing to endure mistreatment, if by doing so we can help re-enfranchise the 99% and reclaim our democracy from the stranglehold of Wall Street and the top one percent.

We will push back against billionaire Michael Bloomberg and any politician who wantonly tramples on proud American freedoms: freedom of the press, freedom of speech, and the freedom of Americans to peaceably assemble and petition for change.

We will overcome the obstacles placed before us. We will not be deterred. We will persevere. Our message is resonating across America, and our cause is shared by millions around the world. We are the 99%, and we want to live in a world that is for all of us — not just for those who have amassed great wealth and power.

Finally! Gay love scene on GLEE coming up!!!

Gleeks you MUST tune in for next week’s episode of Glee, called “The First Time.” It’s without a doubt one of Glee‘s best installments ever and features two popular couples on the show having sex for the first time.

The couples losing their virginity? Finn and Rachel and…Kurt and Blaine! Yep, the couple — who was featured on the cover of EW’s Gay Teens on TV issue – finally decide to take the next step in their relationship. It’s all handled very delicately and is incredibly moving. I can’t think of another network series that’s taken a teenage gay relationship so far or been so progressive. The moment is instigated when another teen, Warbler member Sebastian (Grant Gustin), aggressively pursues Blaine. The trio actually have a very amusing triple date to West Lima’s only gay bar Scandals and run into none other than Karofsky (Max Adler). Look for a great moment between Karofsky and Kurt.

Living at Occupy Wall Street movement in San Francisco

I am very proud to be a member of the Occupy Wall Street movement in San Francisco. We are the people, we are everyone. We have rights and we have every right to defend access to employment that we want, health care, education and a voice in society. We will not allow the corporations or the Republicans to take our rights away.

Evolution is our future. Diversity is our reality. Science is fact. Tolerance is what we must be.

The Koch Brothers fund Herman Cain

The Koch brothers have a long list of demands for Cain. Eliminating the Environmental Protection Agency for one, so that the Koch brothers can continue polluting.  His 9-9-9 tax plan was right from the mouth of a Koch lackey, same with his policy on immigration, abortion and gay marriage.

The difference between Soros funding a candidate and the Koch criminals funding theirs is that Soros basically works against his interests by funding liberal candidates. He has nothing to gain, and is in fact in favor of paying higher taxes.

Might I add, he worked for his money, unlike the inheritor criminal Koch brothers who were born on easy street, so he understands there's more to this country than a bunch of criminals and criminal organizations attempting to flout the law in order to make an extra buck.

In the end, George Soros is a good man. The Koch brothers on the other hand are corrupt, with the worst possible intentions for the majority American public.

Occupy Wall Street represent the true voice of the people

The Tea Party stands for the corporations and serve the interest of the Koch Brothers. They are the people who helped Bush create the recession.

The Occupy Wall Street Protesters represent the true voice of the people.

The Occupy Wall Street Movement is the valid response to the Tea Party fanatics

The Occupy Wall Street movement will end up being bigger than the Tea Party, and I think the only reason it hasn't really happened sooner is that Obama distracted attention and was able to keep feeding Wall Street and doing everything the Fed wants for a couple years before the Left as a whole started taking a closer look at it.

This movement has more to say to the youth of this country than the Tea Party and to intelligent people. It could grow into something like a mature civil revolution against the financial industry as a whole. I would also like to see the revolution end the war on drugs, the wars in the Middle-East, stop Gender Imperialism and the military/prison industrial complex in general, but that's not necessarily what this is all about.

People do not want to return to the Bush years of war, torture, unemployment and fear.   People support President Obama and we stand with him against the Wall Street corporations, Republicans and their Tea Party cronies.

Should people even be allowed to become "rich"?

We all see the problems that are created when a small segment of the population controls all the wealth and affect how how others live. On a more simple level, it simply isn't fair that 1% of the population pays little or no taxes while everyone else most of the taxes and lives with less.

The transgender message of Star Trek: The Motion Picture

The female joins the male to become something new in Star Trek: The Motion Picture

I recently watched the 1979 film, Star Trek: The Motion Picture for the first time and I was amazed by the pro-transgender theme of the film.   At the film's climax, a male and a female, are joined together to form a new life form and have both male and female characteristics.   The film also take a pro-Evolution and pro-science stance and I must say that I am very impressed that Hollywood was doing to do this.   You can watch it happen here:

Instead of trying to defeat President Obama Republicans should learn to work with him

Republicans are not going to able to defeat President Obama in 2012.   The Republicans do not have a viable moderate candidate and intelligent voters are not going to support religious fanatics or simpletons like Michelle Bachmann, Rick Perry or Sarah Palin.

Americans continue to support President Obama and trust him with the economy.   They do not like or trust Republicans.

Instead of wasting their time trying to unseat President Obama in 2012 they should try to work with him and understand what needs to be done to fix the problems created by Bush.

Thank you President Obama for increasing taxes on the rich

The rich have to pay their fair share.

Sorry Republicans but people trust President Obama, not you when it comes to the economy

CNN Poll: More Americans trust Obama on economy over Republicans in Congress

The survey released on Wednesday shows that although a lot of Americans are still unsure what’s in the president’s new jobs bill, they like most of the major proposals offered in the plan that was sent to Congress Monday.

“By a 43-35 percent margin, a plurality of Americans approve of the economic program Obama outlined in his speech to Congress last week, but more than one in five don’t have any view at all of the jobs bill,” says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland.

What is tragic is not what happened on 9/11 but afterwards

This is what 9/11 gave us.

We don't know for sure what happened on September 11, 2001. Were they plane crashes? Pilot error or a tragic mechanical failure? Was it a plot by the Bush Regime or some other power to push an agenda upon us? Some say it was an act of terrorism.

What we do know is that the Bush Regime took advantage of the events of 9/11 and used them to seize more power, to torture, to remove freedoms and to start and wage wars.

Bush started wars in Afghanistan and in Iraq. People were tortured. We lost our privacy when making a phone call. Stem cell research was banned. The science of climate change was denied and bans on gay marriage were enacted.

The years 2001 through 2008 were terrible ones. I remember once on a flight from Oakland, California to Canada, you could feel the tension, stress and fear. Once the pilot announced that we had left U.S. airspace and that we were now in Canada, there was a sigh of relief among the passengers and crew. We were safe from Bush at that moment.

We are all thankful for President Obama for he is making the world a better and safer place.

Why I love President Obama and Big Government

Dear Big Government,

I absolutely love you, and I am proud of it!

I'm proud that my Big Government (you) spent your Big Money on the time and research required to create the infrastructure for the series of tubes I'm currently typing and communicating over. Thank you.

I am also proud that my Big Government (you) spent money on buses and trains that I use to travel.  Thank you for the roads, the bridges, and the tunnels provided for me to get there. Thank you so much Big Government.

While I'm at it, I would also like to thank you (Big Government) for the following things:

- I thank Big Government for the relatively clean air I breathe every day... and the clean water I use to shower, brush my teeth, wash my hands.

- I thank Big Government for the protection it provides so that I can live in a place that is starting to transform into a progressive society.

- I thank Big Government for providing me with health care, housing and social services and providing us with help should we desperately need it.

- Oh, and also, a Big thank you to Big Government for all the good you've done for your citizens over the years providing money for education and science.

Thank you for all this and more, Big Government. I love you as you are now, and would absolutely love you all the more were you to run even more efficiently than you already do.

Lastly, I should add that I am thankful I do not live in a small government, inefficient, struggling nation. I am thankful.

A global ban on guns?

With the latest horrific example of gun violence in Norway is it not time to consider a global ban on all guns?

The United Nations has a global mission and right to protect people, human rights and to end conflict.   I think it is time for the UN to start working on a plan that would ban guns in every nation in the world.   This would fulfill the UN mission.

Deadly attack today in Oslo, Norway likely the work of right-wing extremists

Today's terrible events in Norway are a grim reminder that right-wing extremism is still a deadly threat to progressive people everywhere.

Norway represents everything that Neo-Nazis and other Conservatives hate:  It is a progressive and peaceful nation that respects diversity and the environment.   Norway provides health care for its citizens and has invested in green energy.   Norway respects and protects gay rights and free-thinkers.

Norway is the home of the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to both President Obama and President Gore.   So this appears to be a calculated political attack from the right.

We live in a world of progress now especially with President Obama transforming the United States to the point where it can be an equal and a friend to a place like Norway.

Diversity, Tolerance and Peace are basic human rights and we must never allow the extremists to take them away from us.

Gwyneth Paltrow: What's Wrong With Homosexuality?

Thank you, Gwyneth!

'Two mommies? How lucky is she?!'

"A few months ago, in the heat of the tragic teen suicides that came about from intolerance of homosexuality, I saw a man on television who was apologizing for wishing death on gays from his Facebook page," the 38-year-old actress wrote. "This member of an Arkansas school board was contrite for the violence in his words, but maintained that his values pertaining to homosexuality would remain, as he felt homosexuality was condemned in the bible.""This concept, while foreign to me, is interesting, as it used to justify so much judgment and separation in our society," the Oscar winner (and mother to Apple, 7, andMoses, 5) pointed out. "When my daughter came home from school one day saying that a classmate had two mommies, my response was, 'Two mommies? How lucky is she?!'"Paltrow -- a strong believer in marriage equality -- concluded the post by questioning whether the Bible explicitly condemns homosexuality. "What does it actually say in the Bible that will cause some people to be upset by my line of thinking?" she asked.

Gwyneth Paltrow is smart, sexy and a free-thinker.  We love you!   You can read the whole item here!

Anthony Weiner did not nothing wrong. Don't let Republicans distract you from the facts.

Celebrate Diversity.  Don't Oppress it.

Anthony Weiner is guilty of nothing. Don't let Republicans and Fox News create an issue out of nothing.  Don't let them scorn and deny natural and healthy behavior. Sex, sexual expression and sexuality itself is natural, fun and nothing to be ashamed of or critical of.

Conservatives by their nature are repressive and try to oppress others with religion and their version of "morality". They are hypocrites.

As millions of people around the world to celebrate Gay Pride this month we should stand with Anthony Weiner and defend our natural right to be sexual beings.

America's shame: Killing someone is nothing to cheer about or celebrate

The death of Osama bin Laden has revealed an ugly side of America that many of us had hoped disappeared with the end of the Bush Regime. But during the past couple of days, there has been a rather disgusting and very disturbing CELEBRATION over the violent and needless death of Osama bin Laden.

Bush lied and people died. Millions of people said those words during the Bush Regime years and Osama bin Laden appears to be the latest victim of the American military complex still running amok in the Middle East and elsewhere around the world.

If Osama bin Laden was guilty of a crime,he should have been charged with a crime and brought to a trial. He deserved legal representation and an opportunity to defend himself against the charges thrown against him by the Bush Regime.

I hope President Obama will rectify this matter. Violence is NEVER the answer.

Earth Day 2011: Earth in the Balance

We have seen several terrifying examples of the impact of climate change during the past few weeks. They include:

The earthquake and tsunami that destroyed Japan.

Europe is suffering from the worst drought in a century.

Multiple tornadoes in the United States.

Dead dolphins washing up on beaches.

The ice caps continue to disappear at an alarming rate.

On this Earth Day, let's vow to heal and not hurt the Earth anymore

Evan Rachel Wood: "I'm into anything,"

Love her attitude!

Evan Rachel Wood isn't necessarily looking for the man of her dreams.

The Mildred Pierce star, 23, would be just as happy if the right woman came along.

"I'm into anything," Wood tellsEsquire magazine in its May issue. "Meet a nice guy, meet a nice girl..."

In the public eye, she's only dated men, but Wood – who was briefly engaged to shock-rocker Marilyn Manson – has experience with the same sex, as well.

Asked if she dates women, she answers bluntly, "Yes." As for what she's like in a same-sex relationship, Wood says, "I'm more kind of like the guy when it comes to [dating] girls. I'm the dominant one … I'm opening the doors. I'm buying dinner. Yeah, I'm romantic."

5,000 year old gay cave person found

Five thousand years after he died, the first known gay caveman has emerged into the daylight.

According to archaeologists, the way he was buried suggests that he was of a different sexual persuasion.

The skeleton of the late Stone Age man, unearthed during excavations in the Czech Republic, is said to date back to between 2900 and 2500 BC.

During that period, men were traditionally buried lying on their right side with the head pointing towards the west; women on their left side with the head facing east.

In this case, the man was on his left side with his head facing west. Another clue is that men tended to be interred with weapons, hammers and flint knives as well as several portions of food and drink to accompany them to the other side.

Women would be buried with necklaces made from teeth, pets, and copper earrings, as well as domestic jugs and an egg-shaped pot placed near the feet.

Archaeologists do not think it was a mistake or coincidence given the importance attached to funerals during the period, known as the Corded Ware era because of the pottery it produced.

From history and ethnology, we know that people from this period took funeral rites very seriously so it is highly unlikely that this positioning was a mistake,’ said lead researcher Kamila Remisova Vesinova.

‘Far more likely is that he was a man with a different sexual orientation, homosexual or transvestite. What we see here does not add up to traditional Corded Ware cultural norms.’

Four More Years With President Obama Please!

President Obama will win in 2012 because free-thinking and smart Americans support change and progress.  We don't want to return to the Bush years of war, economic chaos, greed and corporate interests over the people.   Republicans want to cut funding for health care, social programs, NPR and PBS.

Let's keep making America more diverse, tolerant and smart.

Please help President Obama win again in 2012!

Japan is the latest example of the growing danger of Climate Change

Climate Change is here.

The Earth is a living thing and if you abuse a living thing long enough it will lash out in pain. That is what happened to Japan today.

After seeing the horror of what has happened today how can anyone, even the conservatives, deny the reality of Climate Change?

But conservatives are Climate Change deniers. They tend to think there is no harm to the Earth when they drive their SUV's or that oil drilling is not dangerous. The Earth is a fragile living being that deserves respect and we are guests on it. But too many people act like they own the land that that it can be abused anyway they sit fit.

I do not doubt that what happened to Japan has direct links to the abusive behavior of oil drilling and pollution. We saw what happened to Gulf of Mexico when Bush's oil friends at BP continues to rape the Earth there with no regard to the consequences.

The Earth is crying out for help. It is asking for drilling and for the pollution to stop. President Obama, please help.

A Deadly Combination: Gun violence and Tea Party Extremism

The events of this past Saturday are tragic ones.   They scare me and and all free-thinking people.  They are glaring because we thought we had moved pass the era of violence by electing President Obama in 2008.   We as a people, wanted to move away from war, torture, greed, environmental disregard and ignorance.

But since 2008 extremists has been opposing progress in the form of the "Tea Party".  And on Saturday someone decided to use violence to silence progress.

Because of targets on a map, people are dead.   This cannot be allowed to happen again.

We cannot allow the sale of guns to any individual.  Gun have only one purpose:  To hurt or kill people.   That is wrong and illegal and the sale of guns should be illegal.

We must defend and promote tolerance and diversity.  Young people must grow up understanding that people come in all colors and types.  That is natural and normal and it should be celebrated, not feared.   We must say no to nationalism, war and hate and embrace diversity and tolerance.
